The Sundrop School is based in Roscommon, Michigan, and serves children age 3 to 6 years old in its Primary program, and ages 6 to 9 in its Elementary Program. It also offers an after school care program to children age 3 to 11 years old from 3:15pm to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.
The Sundrop School believes that children are complete beings who are naturally driven towards learning, independence, and interest in the natural world. Our philosophy is rooted in respect for children, deep appreciation for the early childhood years, and the knowledge that children develop at their own individual pace.
The Sundrop Primary School for ages 3–6 provides a child-centered, nature-based, and Montessori-inspired environment that cherishes early childhood. Through a gentle approach, we nurture independence and a lifelong passion for learning to develop thriving children.
Sundrop Explorers Academy reimagines education for ages 6–9 by bringing hands-on, project-based learning into northern Michigan's beautiful outdoors. Our dynamic, mixed-age classroom nurtures every child individually to help them reach their full potential.
Forest School After School is our program focused on nature and exploration. It runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, complete with daily snacks and direct bus transportation from Roscommon Elementary.
